Wincove Capital Launches New Lower-Middle Market
Private Equity Firm
On January 1, 2008, Wincove Capital ("Wincove" or the “Firm”) commenced operations as a newly-formed, lower-middle market, private equity firm. The Firm is based in New York.
Wincove will primarily make control equity investments in companies which have certain factors present that constrain revenue growth or profitability. Wincove will work with its portfolio companies in order to accelerate growth and unlock equity value.
The Firm was formed by Partners John McAlister and Michael McGovern, and Principal John Lenahan. The three executives have a long history working together on private equity transactions. Wincove's main focus will be on businesses in the manufacturing, distribution and service industries with EBITDA between $2 million to $8 million.
During the fourth quarter of 2007, Wincove closed on financial backing from an affiliate of a Texas-based investment firm.
