John McAlister, Partner

John has over 30 years of business and leadership experience in a variety of capacities. For the last twelve years, he has been a key member of the senior management teams of four private equity-owned companies.  Prior to forming Wincove Capital, John was the Chairman and CEO of ROM Corporation.  Previously, John was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Viasystems (a Hicks Muse portfolio company that generated approximately $1 billion in sales), where he was responsible for the global sales and marketing effort.  He has extensive experience in lean Six Sigma implementation, overseas sourcing, new product development, and executing and integrating mergers and acquisitions. John began his career as an officer in the United States Army. 

John has an engineering degree from West Point, and has completed various level graduate programs, including those at the Kellogg School of Management and Harvard Business School.

Michael McGovern, Partner

Michael has thirteen years of experience working with middle market companies, primarily in a principal investing capacity. Prior to forming Wincove Capital, Michael was a Partner at Hampshire Equity Partners, a NY-based private equity firm, where he sourced, led and successfully exited many middle market investments. He also served on numerous Boards of Directors of Hampshire portfolio companies. Prior to joining Hampshire in 1997, Michael worked in the investment banking group at Alex. Brown.

Michael received a B.S., summa cum laude, from Boston College.

John Lenahan, Principal

Prior to joining Wincove Capital, John was a Vice President at Hampshire Equity Partners, which he joined in 2003.  At Hampshire, John was responsible for evaluating and executing potential investments, and managing portfolio company investments.  Prior to Hampshire, John worked in the investment banking division of Rothschild Inc. While at Rothschild, Mr. Lenahan focused on restructurings and mergers & acquisitions, executing transactions within the telecommunications, business services and manufacturing industries. John graduated cum laude from Georgetown University where he received a B.S.B.A in Finance.

David Johnson, Executive Recruiter

David has spent over 20 years in the executive search field. Prior to joining Wincove Capital, he was an affiliated executive recruiter of Hampshire Equity Partners, where he worked with Wincove’s principals for several years. David has previously worked with two independent, retained executive search firms, Columbia Consulting and McManners Associates, and also directed the New York practice of the interim management recruiting company, Imcor. His work in executive search has focused on recruiting senior operating and financial executives for small to mid-sized companies, with an emphasis on private-equity backed companies. David has a B.S. from Washington and Lee University.
